To people arguing about the cuda cores, remember that hotclocking is GONE so kepler cores are substantially weaker than Fermi cores. Nvidia late to the game again, where's GK110 or GK112? Q4 really?

There is no need to release the gk 110 now when the gk104 is = to a hd7970

1536 CUDA Cores, Holy crap... This should blow away AMD and at $300, wow! I am a die hard AMD fan but I dont know how they are going to compete with these. AMD better pull a 7999 out of their butt or something crazy. 1536 cuda cores, jesus... This should be a beast...

And I say, yeah right thumb.gif Nvidia being true gentlemen and giving us a break on pricing huh? 7970 performance for 299$?

Excuse me, I just spit my drink out while laughing.lachen.gif Charlie D saw the card in action and said it was 10-20% slower than the 7970 at stock, so anyone thinking greater than 7970 performance for 299$ is in a fantasy land. VR-zone also stated that the GK104 is around a 7950. So you have multiple sources already stating that it slower than 7970, and the GK110 isn't being released until Q4? Of course I could be wrong, standard disclaimers apply. Won't know until the card is released. Its that time of month.

I think the 7970 has 2048 doesn't it?

You can't do an apples to apples core comparison with the Fermi and Kepler, Fermi cores are more powerful than Kepler - again, due to the LOSS of hotclocks.

Oh I didnt know that about the cores being different. I thought they were the same. Yeah 7970 has 2048 but they are not as strong as fermi cores, Im pretty sure...

I thought the 670Ti was GK110 . . .

So much rumor and speculation, we might as well just dismiss all of it.

Some of us aren't buying ATI regardless the release date of Kepler. I'm vested in 3D Vision goodness that only Nvidia can provide at the level it is.

Buying two top line cards now right off the bat this time, if it's as good as or better than a 7970 then wont need Maxwell late or not next time around.

I also belive if Kepler comes a tad better than a 7970 I expect to pay $100 higher than current 7970 pricing and ready to pay $660 for one. If performance is on par than I expect to pay similar.

Ethier way I'm going to be happy because the 7970 perfomance is way above current games and the need to upgrade next year will be moot. Good times for all of us as perfomance increase looks to be higher than just refresh levels. thumb.gif

Yes sir... for the performance increase, not on the nVidia purchase.

Just In!

BigFoot seen running through the Canadian wilderness with some sort of electronics device in his arm!

Upon Closer inspection, it is the new GTX 600 series card and it is 5 times as fast as a 7970 at only $29.95.
