If it replaces the 570 at ~$350 and has performance similar/better than the 580 I'd buy two on release day.

I just don't see them putting it for less than $450 to compete with the 7950's price point.

Dude, the 7950 belongs at 300, no more. Have you not been around the last 10 years of video cards to understand this?

Then where does the GTX 580 belong? Seeing as it performs slower than the 7950, has less VRAM, and cannot do 3d surround adequately (due to less VRAM)

Sounds like another nvidia apologist post lacking logic.rolleyes.gif Tell me the GTX 580 cost is justified because its been out a year. Obviously NV hasn't recouped R+D costs so the high cost is justified, Nvidia gets a free pass on pricing. Please tell me. I'm expecting it:rolleyes:

Dude you will be very hard pressed to find someone that admits Nvidia doesnt gouge prices, the fact is they all do. The 460 2win (technically) has better specs, and costs less. That's an Nvidia making a worse product cost more...

No, you won't get perfect. But I could see ~125% of a single 480 would be possible. They are neck and neck with stock 1GB 460s, and they're 15-33% faster than a stock 480 (depending on game, of course) at 16 x 10 and 1080p. Power usage is going to be insane though.

OT: I have to agree with the chain of thought that says these will replace the 570s (or maybe slightly more) price point. Maybe 375-400. Especially if they beat the 7950 and power consumption is slightly less than absurd.

Ehh, I smell a troll here with the specs.

I paid $450 for the 8800GTS 640MB in its prime. I have no qualms with a $450 second-tier flagship card, but I would of course love to see it available for less.

I'm eagerly awaiting the HD7800 series and nVidia's offering smile.gif
