Suggestions on how to set up air flow in my case please

Thread Starter
So, things are a bit of a mess right now. I've got computer parts flung everywhere, but hopefully I'll be putting everything back together in a couple of days. Anyway, I'm redoing my water setup and I'm changing things from exhaust to intake per the many suggestions that I've read. I've got a few concerns about that though. Mainly I'm concerned about my video card. My gpu won't be water cooled because honestly I don't think it's worth buying a block for a card that I don't plan to keep for that much longer. So with the radiator fans pulling hot air into the system, what will happen to my gpu and where will that hot air go? I only have the one 140mm fan exhausting air at the moment. Additionally, I'm modding my side panel so it will just have a plexi window, no more mesh or 200mm fan.

Here is a quick mockup of what I have planned in my head. Let me know if I can make any suggestions. Oh and I forgot to add it, but the bottom right drive bay is filled with my hard drives. The drive bay above it is empty and can be removed or I can reverse the fan direction. Oh and the order is Res/Pump > 360 rad > cpu block > 240 rad > res/pump. Also, I've read that pull is slightly better than push unless you have 38mm fans, so I've got it planned as a pull setup.

Another possibility is that I could move my PSU to the top of the case and move the 360 rad to the bottom. That way the bigger rad would get cooler air. I'm a bit concerned right now that because the top of my case is basically mesh and supports up to a 3x140 rad, which means that the 360 rad that I have there has room all around it. What I am trying to say is that if heat rises and there is positive pressure in my case, won't some of the hot air end up flowing up around the 360 rad and out the top of the case only to be sucked back down into the case through the 360 rad? I mean, I guess that it isn't really possible to have a perfect setup without getting a case that is specifically built for water cooling, but obviously I want to do the best that I can with what I have.

I think your air flow looks good. I have a similar setup (minus the bottom rad) and my radeons stay with in acceptable temps. I would not be concerned heat convection (rising heat) as the effect is easily over powered by fans. Some air would perhaps escape through the top mesh but I don't see this having any negative effects. Most of the air will still exit through the back of the case.

Don't over-think it. Looks solid as it is. Air in your case will be slightly higher than normal, but shouldn't be more than a couple degrees hotter than any other configuration. If your case has a side fan, you could try upgrading it so it can blow fresh(er) air to the graphics card. I also don't think you need both rads... you could probably just leave the 240 rad out and go with a res/pump->360rad->CPU block->res/pump loop and have all the warmer air stay near the top, away from the graphics card.

Similar to what I did with my build. You should be find. Everyone has preferences. I prefer to pull cooler outside air in through the rads... but people seem to have good results either way.
