Quick search for the Q2BK and it returns a Core i5 750. So quad core no hyperthreading and definitely not Intel i7 900 series. Intel i7 900 series are based on socket 1366 this is a socket 1156 chip. I see many people list the i5 750 on craigslist for under $100.

Another thing to note with ES chips is that you do not want to get caught trying to sell them. So the chip has no resale value, and can get you in a legal bind (more so if you try and sell it).

the owner claims its a test chip for intel, and is stamped " INTEL CLASSIFIED " on the chip, and claims they are made
with no overclocking buffers limits ( basically, all the saftey systems turned off ) to test the limits of the CPU.
Partly true as the ES in the past has unlocked multipliers so the overclockability is much better than retail CPUs.This is not the case with C2D and Core i7 as ES chips seemed to perform not as good as the retail chips.

Since ES chips are subjected to extremely harsh testings, you shouldn't expect too much in it.Therefore you should only buy it at the price of used CPU.

I'm using a 860 ES (bought with half the price of a new retail one) and its overclockability is somewhat bad (max frequency was 4.74GHz with 1.68v).

As z0mbiedestructo said. +REP

It all depends on the stepping version of the ES chip. There could be four different ES versions of a chip before they get it right and go live with a retail version. Usually the LAST ES stepping of a chip will be the same version as a retial chip.
