USB soundcard

Thread Starter
Hi,

I have an Asus Eee-PC netbook, and I want to use my bookshelf speakers and subwoofer with it. However the headphone socket on the netbook is poor quality and there is no line-out. Would a USB soundcard improve the quality of the signal the speakers are getting, and make them sound better? Could anyone please suggest a good USB soundcard to buy that isn't too expensive? It must be able to control the subwoofer too. I am in the UK.

Many thanks,
Lemon2

Yes, there are USB audio devices that would do this.

Any recommendation will have to take the quality of your speakers, how picky you are about sound fidelity, and your budget into account.

The Siberia steel series USB soundcard isn't that bad imo. Definitely better than any onboard sound i've heard on a desktop.

The speakers are Edifier R1600Ts with an LTC SW100 subwoofer. I just want the quality to be at least as good as my desktop motherboard (MSI P67 GD65.) And less than £50 budget if possible.

It does not seem to support a subwoofer. I said in the original post that I want to use a subwoofer with it the sound card.
