7970 is only 10% faster than Gtx580? LOOOOOOOL. 10% faster not, 5% faster.

15% or so averaged over titles in a given review, yeah.

1920x1080: http://tpucdn.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7970/images/perfrel_1920.gif a gtx 580 1.5gb is 90% as fast as a 7970.

2560x1600: http://tpucdn.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7970/images/perfrel_2560.gif a gtx 580 1.5gb is 84% as fast as a 7970.

Same deal in other reviews I've seen with performance summaries (Xbitlabs, etc.).

13 months and counting since installing my GTX 580. Not one driver issue, BSOD, or gaming problems. Only upgrade to final release drivers, never one beta. Each driver improved my cards gaming and 3D Vision performance. First time Nvidia owner. Beat any track record I've had in years. thumb.gif

I've had nothing but driver problems with my 560 Ti, same with my buddy (who bought them at the same time). Only used WHQLs, and they'd always crash. Never BSODed, but they'd stop working, recover, and then I'd have to reboot to be able to do anything like watch a video

14 months later, will you be singing that tune by the time GK110 is released in Q4 2012 lachen.gif since the GK104 apparently won't pass the 7970.

It happed to me like that with my gtx 560ti once a week. Then It taked 3 times a day. I have tried Memtest for memory, nothing wrong. I run cpu test, nothing. Finally, I replaced gtx 560 ti with HD6870 and nothing happen for 3 weeks now. So where is the problem? To me, nvidia driver. I'm not a fan of either company.

Maybe a rumor to you, but NDA's just went out.

Nvidia is releasing something soon.

Hardware news is when it is confirmed. This is not. This is speculation. It may or may not happen. What is another example of hardware news? iPad 3 released! When something has actually happened straight from the horse's mouth.
