If you just want to get rid of linux altogther, boot an xp install disc and get to the command line (recovery console?) and type 'fixmbr' and possibly 'fixboot'.

WELL, You can in the future just reformat WHILE installing another distro, and have that installer make a new grub for you...

^^thats not 100% though, I have had it where ubuntu has Grub 1.5 and Fedora has grub 2.0 so it bascially wont install until I completly reformat the HDD.

I re- installed Ubuntu and all I did was update it. Why do I have two now? Can I remove one in the GRUB?

No go into Synaptec(sp?) and locate the kernel's in there. Once you find them uninstall the old one.
