hey (: so did some looking around and found the right one ect.. all the fun stuff >.<<br /> but yeah last night completed the vgpu (:
448
hows it look? lol bad pic. but yeah shows the main part..
was wondering i should need ( going to double check ) a 20k VR for the mem...
can i use a 50k? o.o?
but turn it to 20k before soldering it on.. so itll be 20k? as long as go right way... if turned it up the volts would go down yes?
and would be bigger jumps in volts or same?

Looks good smile.gif

Before you do the vGDDR mod..... what kind of memory does the card use? If it is Qimonda, a voltage increase will be truely wasted, you would be better off reducing the voltage smile.gif

oh btw i put my arctic cooling accerlero S1 rev.2 onto this card and dropped temps from 60 to around 40 o.O! biggrin.gif
but need to get it from my other rig into my main rig ( sigrig ) carnt run benchies on other rig :/ no drivers ect haha.. with 5kbs net atm ( capped ffs ) it aint gonna happen within this century .. but if i get a chance ( maybe 3 or 4 days? idk when ever im free next lol.. see what this poor card can do (: probably nothing special haha

Still lookin good biggrin.gif If you used a 50K trimmer, the voltage will increase quite fast as you adjust it and it will become so sensitive, it will be a little unsafe to use. You shouldn't need more than 2.20-2.25v to max the RAM smile.gif

As for the core.... There is every chance you will hit OCP at around 1.35v/ 850MHz (linked)

Ahk cheers I'll give it a read and see what happens smile.gif

Edit: just had a quick read over it.
Have to find some resistors lol. smile.gif would a old card work?

And how will I know if it works or not? Got to read over it again but still trying to understand

If you wanna REALLY OC the card, push the MHz until you get black screen and 0v under load every single time. Then do the OCP mod smile.gif

I just use a couple of 1K fixed resistors. I don't do *that* much part farming so I can't really help you there.

was wondering about cap mods also (: ?
why do cap mods?
i know their have been quite a few 8800s done lol how do you work out where to put them?
and how do u work out what ones you need if u need them?

I don't bother with cap mods, they've never given me a boost

I can only really clutch at straws for picking values.

You'll ideally want solid caps, low ESR, low ripple.
