I was offered a trade. XFX Reference HD 6970 for my GTX 570.

Straight trade no cash involved. Should i do it?

Depends if you need the VRam. Other than that, I would consider it a side-grade. AMD drivers are much worse, and personally I would stick with the 570. It should be plenty until the generation proceeding Kepler.

They are virtually the same, i guess lol. Basically the only difference is the Vram. I also heard that if you have a bigger resolution, the 6970 is better. So its really nothing different.

you could get another 6970 on here real easily for pretty cheap for xfire , besides that get it for the vram or dont get it.

Well. I do play BF3. And bad company 2. Since i'm a single GPU person. I doubt AMD's drivers will give me any problems.

Anything above 1080p 6970 is better due to more Vram.
Anything 1080p or below the 570 will be faster.

With exceptions of games that use a lot of Vram like BF3 @ 1080p my 6970 Lightning out preforms my friends 570, but I have a larger overclock than him as well because I am using a special edition of the card.

For that res(and up to 1080p) I would stick with the 570. But at 1080p, I COULD use a bit more VRAM....
