I know I need a mce remote, so it has to be one of those. And I dont really need a logitech harmony, since the remote that came with the reciever is a learning remote with a little display

Edit: yes, I am definattely going to use windows mce. Nobody replies for 2 days, and then I get 3 posts in 3 minutes, ***....

and can somebody find a review for the " Thermaltake Mozart Sx VC7001SNS" I really like my TT case, so I am probably going to go with that even thou it will be the only thing that is silver under the tv, oh well(I might paint it later)

Edit #2: do you guys think I could fit a BT in that case? Maybie if I cut a hole on the top of the case...... , if not, what cooling should I get for it?

The build looks good, you could maybe go with no name ram to save a few bucks, unless you really want to overclock. The tuner card is a good choice, i'm running two of the oem ones.

why are u running two of them? maybie I should get the pvr-500?

Anyways, what else should I change? I just put a random psu in there, what would a good, SILENT!!!, cheap psu be?(I think around 300-400w, right?)

Edit:
It says that the mobo supports DDR 800, so why should I get slower ram?

I always wanted a 4ghz processor, would I be able to oc this to 4ghz?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116238
how would it compare to the C2D 6300?

https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...2%28cheaper%29

what can I change to get under 600?

The reason no one responded for a couple of days is because you're question is pretty comprehensive.

For a quiet psu, you could go external with this:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=4427
It's kind of expensive, but the reviews are good. There's also an internal 500 watt version:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=3458

Any reason why aren't going with a micro-atx? Those cases often come with their own remote, such as this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811163045

I don't know if you've seen a full atx htpc case in person before, but they're really bulky and ugly compared to the dvd-player type of look you can get with a micro-atx set-up. Even though the case you picked looks cool in the picture, it's looks like a big aluminum box in person. Wanting an htpc that is also decent for gaming on such a tight budget is difficult. If it were just for basic computing and entertainment, you'd be fine with a micro-atx or even mini-itx with one 512 stick of ram and a modest cpu.

You could always get the x1900 All-In-Wonder by ATI and have your video needs handled in one card:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...s=19&c=us&l=en

They used to have that card on Newegg for just 200.00, but now it's 300.00 and out of stock, so who knows?

thanks for the reply, but:
1. The psu is too expensive for my budget, I also wouldnt have space for it under the tv, and I dont need 500w

2. I was actually looking on that case, but it has a 240w psu, that is not replaceble, I dont know if that is enough.
I also read that the silverstone remote doesnt support mce, can anybody back this up? And last, micro atx board ussualy have integred video cards, and I want at least component out for my hdtv.(they are also more expensive for their performance)

Lot's of mobos come with onboard video, but that doesn't mean you can't use your own video card. Notice how many micro-atx mobos come with one pci-e 16 slot? 240 watts might hit your roof, but you can calculate that easily enough. Yes, you sacrifice some performance for a smaller package, but it's about priorities, and I guess it's difficult to tell how much weight you put on the pc noise and aesthetics vs. price and versatility. At first it seemed like noise was quite a factor, but now . . . . ?

Like I said, I knew the psu was expensive, but you were concerned about noise, and I thought it should at least go on the record as a really strong silent psu option, if not for you than for others looking at this thread for their own future projects. I guess you could say I noted it for posterity.

I wish we could see how well integrated video would work for your gaming needs. Since you're not going for a top notch graphics solution as it is, I wonder how well, say, a Conroe-based micro-atx with integrated graphics and a good sound card would do on modest settings. I couldn't answer that, but it would be nice if someone in-the-know could offer some input on (not to hijack your thread, but I'd be very interested).

You might look at this thread in another forum:
http://www.htpcnews.com/forums/index...howtopic=24059

Anyway, good luck.

thanks for the link, I was just thinking about going totaly fanless, because I REALLY dont want noise, I dont want an external psu because I dont have space for it, and it would look wierd. I am also bumping my budget to 1k, that should make things easier.

Edit: I am gona register on that htpc forum, and ask there too, omg, thats gona be 3 forums at once!
