FSP Aurum CM Gold 650/750w, decent power supply? - Page 2

Yeah take the Silverstone Strider Plus 750W over the FSP Aurum. Antec TruePower New is also better than Aurum, but at those prices, the Strider Plus is a better pick.

Yes, it's a higher end design.

thanks heaps guys smile.gif and 700+ is enough to power crossfire (7950s or so) with an overclocked IB processor yeah? i have 650w atm but i dont think it will be enough...
i think your 650w will handle it but itll probably get noisy because xfx are tightasses with fans. yep 700+w will be fine smile.gif the striders are great and the superflower 700w will do 750w easy, considering there are a bunch of people like nzxt and kingwin who use the same psu internally and up its specs to 750 anyway.

if you were willing to buy from msy, the thermaltake toughpower xt775 is $135, another good deal

yeah I would be willing to buy from MSY, but honestly they have crap power supplies... the Xt775 would be an option but it is bronze rated and I'm going to try go with a gold rated so I can convince my parents to add a bit to my power supply fund to save money on the energy bill wink.gif

its bronze rated but does silver @ 115v and gold here in australia. if you use jonnyguru as a reference, the TT is a little bit more efficient overall

if you're set on gold then the aurums are pretty decent, as are the more expensive superflowers
