Reenabling the onboard LAN again in BIOS and booting up, the nVidia drivers aren't even loaded and I need to reinstall them. Any ideas?

seems like a driver conflict between LAN and GPU. did you restart before and after installing EACH driver?

Do not use this guide. The latest version of Driver Sweeper works perfectly:

BTW you don't want to be messing with regedit

new driver isnt as good as the old ones
getting unstable hardware (F@H) with the new driver, reverting it back to an older version fixes it :S

Same here. Driver Sweeper 3.2.0 is the version I am currently using and it works fine. Bradley claims it deleted or messes around with important system files but even if that is the case that can be verified and fixed using the command prompt and sfc /scannow.

That was taken from this article from HardOCP.
The framerates remained the same as it did before but when it dips it doesn't feel jerky anymore and the game just feels smoother overall.

I remember trying this a while ago and the game wouldn't start after I made those changes. I had to go back to the default values before the game would run again. Wierd.

I just did it and it works fine. You sure you didn't accidentally highlight something wrong and overwrite part of the ini?
