And dont call me kid, I dont think there is a reason to start talking to me in a condescending way.

Also another thing is that you have to realize that overclocking is like almost throwing a dart into the dark, depending on how good the cpu that you are getting on your hands you will be able to overclocking less or more from other persons, its the same as unlocking cores on a 4x to make it has 6cores, it can be done yes, but not 100% of the cpus can do it, same happens with overclocking some cpus can reach higher overclocking speeds than others, thats why you see different cpus under the same range, FX8120 and FX8150 are 2 cpus yes, but they are just the same batch of cpus but during test they separate them bc one can run better than other with higher speeds, so if you see a FX8120 running at 5ghz it means it can be done, but not 100% of the fx8120 will be able to do it, if it were so easy to overclock them to higher speeds AMD would just overclocked it themselfs and sell them at higher price.

no where near stable but it not what I wanna run at 24/7 either. I run at 4.6ghx right now anyways.

Ohhh if you done the right research, you would have found out that the asrock mobo has a bad vdrop for oc. Thats why I nabbed the gigabyte ud3 instead. Go get the ud3.

The asrock has LLC but it's stupid setting for am3+, i can confirm this from testing and toying around with mine, on am3 cpu if llc set to auto or enabled, vcore will go up under load, for am3+ cpu you have to disable llc for it to be enabled, it's a really....interesting way to have that set, i see no reason why they would do this just that it's like that.

Asrock 970 extreme3 cpu vcore currently at 1.3875v goes to 1.45v under 100% load with LLC setting on DISABLED if enabled vcore goes from 1.3875v to 1.31v load....

I forgot to mention that my processor actually is 4.0ghz prime95 stable at its default voltage of 1.3125v. It's just hard to overclock it without feeding it too much power.

1.3125v = 4.0ghz prime stable
1.425v = 4.2ghz prime stable
1.5v = 4.3ghz prime stable

1.42 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much for 4.2, you probably have something wrong like really wrong, you might be gettign the BSOD from some where else.

Im running 1.325v on 4.2ghz on Prime95 stable, 1.4v should get you to 4.5ghz not to mention 1.5v is like 5ghz, to try start from zero and start from 4.0 or 4.2 raising to 1.35 at max and twiching other voltages or speeds, you might be getting errors from other places and not on cpu voltage, for example I get BSOD if I raise the NB from 2200 to 2600 without raising the NB voltage.

1.4 and 1.5 is already a lot of voltage to be honest, remember that LLC which should be on (on asrock should be off...***), or on extreme is already boosting the voltage .05v to avoid vdrops.

Another thing is that depending on the motherboard you would be able to overclock less or more.

They are not the same, but his speed + voltage doesnt make sense, when you have read a lot about this chips you would see that there are a lot that are similar, his default vcore is 1.3125 which very similar to others fx8120 from other users and same as mine which will run fine 4.0ghz which it does.

Jumping from 4.0 to 4.2 it shouldnt require a boost of almost 0.1v on voltage, specially if you have LLC enabled which will add 0.05v to your current voltage.
