Why a "True" gamer will always prefer a console over a PC? - Page 17

You CANNOT compare console to PC. Consoles are specialized machines, PC's are very open-ended, as long as the game supports mods.

And if you see how successful Minecraft is, it buries most AAA-titles in sheer creativity.

Between this topic, apple lawsuit posts, and re-hashing of bulldozer "phail," it feels like Groundhog's Day around here sometimes. smile.gif

"True" gamers play whatever they like, regardless of platform. It's kind of pointless discussing the matter unless you have an agenda to push.

im probably 9 pages too late in this troll thread.

but, seriously ? a " TRUE GAMER " prefers a console over PC ?

that's an opinion.

like most people have said, yeah a TRUE GAMER wouldn't discriminate based on the platform the game is being played on. a true gamer, enjoys all games in all various types.

you say how TRUE GAMERS would prefer a console over a PC ? because it's cheaper ?

cheaper if you're a kid, don't have a job, no source of income. if it is cheaper then someone else must have gifted to you, or you spent your $500 life savings on the newest console released.

even now, the consoles are selling for $250 + . and its been around for how long ? 4 years already?

since your arguement is PC vs CONSOLE , then i'll ask you this .

isn't gaming a hobby ? aren't hobbies expensive ? if you enjoy your hobby, wouldn't you want the best? would you want something to just be OKAY to do your hobby ?

( i.e. would a pro mountain biker, buy a bike from walmart, because it's cheaper than a $6000 mountain bike, and take it into the mountains to tackle hard terrain? no they wouldn't . cheaper components means you're going to eat FLOWERS (s**t ) . )

(i.e. if you're a basketball player, do you want the latest expensive kobe or jordan shoes? or will you play with converse all-stars? how will your feet feel afterwards?)

think of all the different possibilities you can do with A COMPUTER. compared to A CONSOLE .
having a PC , especially building one yourself, gives you some enjoyment, knowing your time and effort and money isn't laid to waste. gives you a sense of satisfaction, happiness. knowing that probably no more than about 5-10 people may have the exact same computer as you. what are the chances of someone having the exact same hardware / case / system set up as you ? very rare.

with a console, about half a million people have the exact same thing. but many people don't think about it like that. i mean who really does think about having the same gaming set up as the other billions of people around the world?

i can easily hook up a USB controller and play games just like a console person, but i prefer not to, i like my WASD and mouse to go pew pew.

let me ask you this, what will be needing a replacement earlier? a brand new PS3 controller / XBOX controller , or a brand new mouse / keyboard? pressing down on the joystick of the controller wears out the function, especially to run . you'll notice a difference. how much is a replacement for a brand new PS3 controller / XBOX controller ? $50 - $60 .

remember in the good old days where the PC gaming community was a lot larger than consoles?
remember those free DLC ? new maps were free, new guns were free. developers attracted the community back into taking interest in their game by giving us new to stuff to play with . now we HAVE to pay for new stuff just so that we can actually play the game we would like to enjoy .

lol consoles don't need to download stuff for games? really? why is that when i buy COD about 3 months after official release, i pop in the game and i have to UPDATE?! huh ? whats going on? thought consoles didnt need to update. maybe you think, going (online) to look for the patch is retarded and time consuming, because you didn't realize that once you're on the computer, you're already connected to the internet! . just gotta type into google to find your patch and download. you must be some kind of retard if you can't find the patches.

you're a retard when it comes to patches and updates for PC games, but when it comes to youtube, you're like a god, knowing how to find everything right?

look at what consoles have done. OH YOU WANT A DLC ?! PAY FOR IT. 15 for new maps. consoles have made devs charge for DLC's .

my 2 cents.

Metro 2033 is a first-person shooter video game with survival horror elements, based on the novel Metro 2033 by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. It was developed by 4A Games in Ukraine and released in March 2010 for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.[3] In March 2006, 4A Games announced a partnership with Glukhovsky to collaborate on the game.[4] The game was announced at the 2009 Games Convention in Leipzig;[5] along with an official trailer.[6] A sequel was announced, currently titled Metro: Last Light.

Touche,

Then replace Metro 2033 with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Your argument is now invalid.

Computer games came out in the 50's. Consoles came out in 1972. That's not even talking about computers in general, just computer games...

Edit:
I remember owning that! I seen the pic on the wiki and had to post it...
