Yes, but sadly it's time for me to move on.

In conclusion, I have played thousands of games in my life and have played probably hundreds of games on every console I ever owned.

I have owned the following consoles:
Atari 2600
Nintendo (original)
Genesis
Super Nintendo
TurboGrafx-16
Sega Saturn
Sega CD
Playstation
Nintendo-64
Playstation 2

I owned computers during all this time as well (TRS-80, Commodore 64, the list goes on... but not important). Having a broad background in console gaming I still prefer PC gaming exclusively. I will not even look at a console anymore. There's no comparison to make in my mind. There isn't a single console only game available that will make me go out and buy a console just to play it.

Yes, I've played Gears of War and several other newer console games since I do have friends and siblings who play consoles. But I will not buy a console again. It's a waste of money in my mind. I want my mouse, keyboard, and superior graphics (even though graphics do not define a good game, but they make great games better).

To the OP, come back here after you get seasoned and try to make a better argument. But I'm willing to bet that you will not feel the same in another couple of decades. I'm also willing to bet you do not own the PC in your sig. That's a computer you dream of having but can't have yet. So you are butt hurt about it and trying to trash PC gaming. Pics or GTHO. I love console gaming as much as PC gaming, and this OP one of the most useless posts I've ever seen even in the bonkers realm of PC v Console Wars.

True gamer, rofl. I've been gaming longer than most OCN members have been alive. I love being told the order in which I should be appreciating elements of a video game.

OP, you clearly haven't been gaming long enough to understand that different genres emphasize different elements. Textures are more important in an FPS than an isometric RPG. Graphics are king in certain games and less important in others. Bottom line, there is not FORMULA for this. Every gamer is a "true" gamer, and every gamer appreciates games differently AND THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE.

/thread.

This makes the experience for me. I wouldn't game if people didn't talk much. Thus as much as I love PC graphic I can't stand to play it.

That's why you game with friends and have a Teamspeak or other program that you can get together on. Playing with randoms is just, well, random. Sometimes you'll get people who talk, sometimes not.

And most of the time (From my experience on console) you get 12 year old brats screaming racial and homophobic abuse at you.

Also see how many of you got hit by all this. Because you guys know it's true and you can't admit it :S

Dude you claim its a pain in the ass to update a pc game, bull. 90% of games you buy on steam or origin, or retail have automatic updating, or an available link within the game client these days. So its really easy and convenient.

Yeah, I played COD MW3 on xbox at a friend's house and while there were a lot of people using mics, it wasn't about the game. In fact, 95% of the talking was just random crap, and yes plenty of kids too. Of course, we all had a few beers in us so we probably sounded stupid as well. Fit right in though lol.

Some people state playing on a console, while relaxing on a sofa is more comfortable than playing on a PC while being sit down on a chair and some others may say that PC games have doors opened for the modding community. But the question is, which platform is better for a "true" gamer?
Well let's first define what a true gamer is. A true gamer won't qualify a game just for it's graphics. In fact, graphics is what a true gamer will judge at last. A TG will PLAY the game, not see how awesome the textures are, or how blurry they are. A TG will judge the story of the game, the gameplay of it, how varied and innovative it is and lastly how gorgeous it looks. But this last aspect will be defined by "unacceptable" "acceptable" "total awesome". Nowadays graphics are acceptable so for a true gamer the unacceptable word isn't on his dictionary. So in terms of grphics, a PC and a console it's going to be the same for a TG.
Games. A true gamer will like to be able to play the majority of the best rated games. And also he would like to play a wide variety of games, not only strategy or rpg games. A TG is not limited to multiplayer experiences. If we consider all this, a console (from this generation) has more varied games than a PC (on this generation). If we consider the amount of games the PC has from it's existence, we have to consider all the consoles that appeared since that existence with all the games available for them too. And if we do the maths, the console will always win, since consoles appeared before PCs. And yeha, a TG will own the most important consoles.
Money: As a TG will need to buy a lot of games, he will have to spend the less money possible on the device that's going to run the games. Consoles are cheaper by far than a gaming PC. So a TG will always prefer a console over a PC for it's price.
That's it. In terms of MP, for me playing online on PC and playing online on a console is the exact same experience. Maybe on xbox live you get more options, but overall it's the same.
So what do you think?

Well my question is, what gives you the right to define a "True Gamer"? If such a person even exists.

EDIT: Misspelled something
