well..the Samsung sticks do 7-8-8-23 @ 1600
not much diff @ 1333-1600 (Samsungs do 6s there)
jack it up to 2133....and there's a difference

I have 1600 8-8-8-24 and my buddy has 1333 7-7-7-21 what makes one better than the other? is there a differance? What about when you get into oc? I know that the higher speed and multi you put on your processor the more stress it puts on ram and you may have to drop its speeds, timings, and up voltage?
Please just post ideas thoughts and opinions so others can correct yours and mine, the more talk the better.

Theory: freq/CAS

1600/8 = 200

1333/7 = 190

Fact is benchmarks may not always jive with the theoretical numbers. Or one may find they can get a better CPU overclock with lower RAM freq & timings, net difference being better overall performance. Only way to know for sure is to test.

You won't like the answer: it depends on the application.

if would be hard to get an acurate comparison beten you and your friends RAM with benching.. but maybe both you try MaxxMEM^2 with as little services and no progams running and compare your results might be fun.. smile.gif
