Weird issue I need help with.

Hi. smile.gif

I have two front USB ports on my case. I use one of them for a webcam and the other I leave free for miscellaneous devices. Both ports work perfectly fine with every device I use except for one, an HD camcorder (Kodak Zi8).

When I first plug it in, Windows will say it's been detected but it won't actually pop up in "My Computer". I have to repeatedly plug it in so it gets through and I can access my files. This has always been the case.

However, now it's started disabling my webcam when I'm plugging it in and it still won't let me access the files. No matter how many times I try replugging it, it just refuses to be recognized. The only way to renable the webcam is to restart the computer. It doesn't affect any of the other USB devices attached nor does this happen with any other devices.

In addition, the computer won't shut down afterward and the shutting down icon just spins forever.
I am running Vista Ultimate 32 Bit.

Why is this happening?
Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Can you try plugging in the front USB plug into a different header on the mobo?

As for the shut down, that is the USB devices fault, it happens with certain USB devices for me and other's PCs I have used all the time. Have the USB devices unplugged when shutting down and it should help.
