Hi i want to build a pc for a friend, and we've decided that skryim is probably the most graphicly requiring game that will be played on it, we would like to know what parts would you recommend for hopefully around 900 dollars
high settings prefered, we don't need 100 percent no lag on ultra.

Kinda weird to be asking about prebuild computers in a forum where everyone build their own computers. But I guess you have your own reason.

I would go for company like ibuypower or cyberpower. I never bought anything from them because I build my own computer but they are not as overprice as alianware. From the 2 game you listed, you really only need a 500 dollar computer. The most important factor are cpu and gpu. I would look for either i3-2100 (if you want to save money) or i5-2400 with gtx 550 ti or ati 6850. I this is just something to give you an idea.

I definitely would recommend building your own computer. It will save you like 200+ dollars and it is mad easy to do. Just look at newegg youtube video on how to build a computer. They show you step by step and explain everything slowly.

Will portal 2 be the only game he plans on playing or is he going to play other games too? (that are atleast more demanding than portal 2, which isnt even that demanding)

yeah, she likes minecraft, portal 2, also found out she would enjoy skyrim, which i know requires a bit more, so yeah i guess lets go with skryim, what parts do you recommend to play skyim on high, not ultra with steady 55-60 frames
post #10 of 16
You could go with something like this:

Case: Antec 302
CPU: i5-2400
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Gen3
RAM: Standard 8GB
HDD: W.D. Caviar Black 1TB
GPU: AMD HD6870
DVD Drive: Samsung
PSU: Coolermaster GX650
O.S.: Windows 7 OEM

The cost comes to: $903.91 and it'll play portal, skyrim and minecraft just fine.
