Google voice for typing

Thread Starter
I'm sure you're aware of Google's voice search feature and how well it works...

well in android ICS now there is actually a voice typing keyboard that is pretty awesome. it works rather well and the little things can be fixed by typing.

I was wondering if there is a way where I can use this on say Microsoft office to type my essays instead of typing them by hand. No idea how well it'll work, but it was an idea...

My google phone has great voice type technology. If I really wanted to do what you were talking about, the first place I would start would be by using a text document app. I'm sure there are plenty out there. If not then gmail should suffice. With gmail you could just type the whole body of the essay into an email and then email it to yourself. As you can see by the signature on this post, I just testing this out on my samsung galaxy nexus and it worked quite well. I maybe had 1 correction while typing this whole thing. There is 1 downside I found which is that certain grammatical characters are not able to be used by the voice recognition technology. Like parentheses. Otherwise it works very well, just make sure you speak very clearly.
