[Kotaku] Mass Effect 3 DLC Pops Up Early on Xbox Marketplace, Spoils Plot Point. - Page 2

post #11 of 47
Before the EA/Origin hate-machine starts and people begin to whine about day-one DLC - this is free with both the Collector's Editions of ME3 as well as PC Digital Deluxe Editions purchased via Origin, Amazon, Gamestop, or elsewhere.

And as a standalone for those who purchased the regular edition...i think it's like $8-10. But if it's a bonus squad character and an entirely new mission like the bigger ME2 DLCs...totally worth it if you're an ME fan.

Obviously, this is an incentive to get people to spring for the Digital Deluxe/Collector's Editions. The standard edition is already $60; why not drop $20 more for all the exclusive bonus content/in-game weapons/armor, as well as the day-one DLC? Seems pretty reasonable compared to other Collector's/Deluxe editions that have released lately that have literally had TERRIBLE incentives.

I personally went with the physical N7 Collector's Edition for $80 through (gasp) Gamestop - you get the artbook, Steelbook case, lithograph, N7 patch, the N7 Warfare weapons pack, robotic dog, in-game hoodie, squad alternate appearance pack, Argus rifle AND the bonus Gamestop-exclusive N7 Valkyrie rifle and Valkyrie Armor pack...I normally hate Gamestop but the only thing they aren't giving out is the Origin exclusive AT12 shotgun, so this was a no-brainer for me. thumb.gif

Lithograph = $15
Squadmate = $10
Alt Cost. = $5
Patch(physical) = $5
Robot Dog = $5-$10
Arsenal Pack = $5-$10
Artbook = $15
Hoodie = $5
$65-$85 bucks of stuff then $60 bucks for game so $125-$145 at current prices give or take a dollar or two so dropping the extra 20 is well worth it biggrin.gif it's almost like Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, you got Normal DA then you got the DAUE for same price which one would you get? biggrin.gifthumb.gif

This is insane. What happened to paying $50 for a new game and then just playing it? It's a chore playing games these days.

And this is why I don't buy(or pirate) EA games, in response to the guy who said it's free with the collector's edition; they did this before with ME2 and DA:O, for whatever reason my DA content code didn't work and EA's answer was to buy it, that's what I get for buying a game on release I guess. rolleyes.gif

Are you serious? You value an ingame hoodie and a robot dog that much? 125-145 dollar!?
I watch the news regularly but probably missed the part where they reported that the USA is experiencing hyperinflation.

It's just a ripoff. You can't ask 8 or 10 bucks for just a squadmate and 2 shallow sidequests. Back in my day we bought expansion packs. O boy, that had real value!

It's apparently more profitable to sell incomplete games now days. I personally won't be paying for this game.

Thanks...mad.gif

I think users on OCN should start getting infractions against them for spoiling stuff like this.

Let me get this straight, folks: they sell a game for full price that has missing content...and then release that missing content AT ALMOST THE VERY SAME LAUNCH DAY?!?!?! Is this a joke, or something? I have no problems paying for DLC, but I do when such DLC could be included in the game as they are released at the same time.

For example: the Back to Karkand DLC was kinda big for BF3...and come several months later. But this?!?!?! Haven't played any ME as of now...and maybe I won't...

It's typical of games today:

1. make game,
2. remove parts of game,
3. sell incomplete game at full price,
4. sell the missing parts as DLC,
5. profit
...
6. release 'Complete Edition' months later
