[CS 1.6] cl_allowdownload DOES NOT WORK

okay. I have cl_allowdownload 0 in my config (which is READ-ONLY) and when I join a server it keeps downloading stuff. Wth is that.and when I see cl_allow...+tab - I see that it is set to "1".. then I set it to "0" and again trying to join servers.. same. Keeps downloading. What do I do?

You can manually change the config. Navigate to the config file and change the 1 to 0, then save it. If that doesn't work, you can try copying the file to your desktop, changing it there, then moving the file back to your cs folder. Open it again to verify the change was made. Oh and don't forget to un-check "Read-Only"

Cant follow.. IT is already "0" in my config file. + it is Read-Only.

Uncheck read only.

Your userconfig.cfg should not be read only. Make sure cl_allowdownloads 0 is in your userconfig.cfg as well.

I have config.cfg in my cstrike folder and there it is well written cl_allowdownload 0 then (before I join any servers) make my config.cfg file Read-Only BECAUSE it has to be read-only. There is so many ugly servers using ugly scripts to change players' config files. I dont know what userconfig.cfg file you are talking about here.

Anti cheat software may change things in your cfg. Also, are you sure that cl_allowd... works for everything? May be some files will download when entering a sv disregarding that command.

What kind of servers are you joining that have scripts changing players configs? Probably not a worthy server of joining anyways.

Make another config file named userconfig.cfg, dont make it read only either. Put it cl_allowdownload 0 into the config you just made named userconfig.cfg.

Not working as I expected ;]

Keeps downloading stuff. and when I type in ~ cl_allowdownload , I see it set at "1".. Clearly this is the most disgusting bug or whatever you call it in CS 1.6...
