HDMI matrix.

Thread Starter
Hi!!, We ha ve 3 hd boxes and 6 tv's in our Bar. Ideally would be to have a 3*6 HDMI matrix but I can't seem to find one. 8*8 matrixes are wau to expensive, and 4*4 leaves me short 2 tv's on signal distribution. Is it possible to connect a 4*2 matrix to a 4*4 matrix?? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Yea, you could easily connect matrix switches to one another. With 6 tvs and 3 sources, though, not every TV would have access to all the sources.

So basically, I would be better off with 1 4*4 for 4 tv"s and 1 2*2 switch for the other 2 tv"s, right??.

That would also work. What you could do is split the HDMI coming off of two of your sources and have those go into the 2x2 while having the 4x4 get all 3 sources.

The other thing you could do is get two 4x4 switches, split all your sources and have access to all of them from every TV. That would mean that:

A. If you get another source, you dont have to upgrade matrix switches
B. You could get 2 more TVs and wont have to upgrade matrix switches
C. All TVs will have access to all sources.

If you are doing scenario 2 and want to have access to all the sources, you can only have a maximum of 4 sources. If you want to have more, you wont be able to get all sources on all TVs. On your second 4x4, you have 5 inputs tongue.gif

Scenerio 1 would work.

Yep!!, scenario 2, 3 sources 6 or actually 7 tv's, I miscounted won't need any more but I should have enough space for 1 more HD box and 1 more tv if needed. Thanks for your help dude. I will post back
when it's all setup! See ya on the flip side!!!!
