Drive to the airport, go on vacay, come back, your car is bricked. Tesla is dead to me.

I agree that this is a serious limitation to the technology right now, and I hope that this is something that they address in future models. Personally, I think that they should have an optional solar panel that is capable of maintaining at least minimal charge. This is probably the number 2 issue(after price) why these cars aren't ready for the mainstream public yet. How many cars die daily due to people not doing something as simple as changing the oil regularly? And it would take far less negligence to leave the car unplugged.

That depends. Tesla Motors does have chargers that can plug into any outlet, but for optimal charging, you do need a high power connector, as you say.

Nissan Leaf 110-120V recharging. It's slow recharging but it works. You dont have to 100% recharge the batteries every time you recharge.

Which isn't time efficient though (Guess I should of noted that without the official charger it's too slow, its practically pointless). No one wants to wait hours for their car to charge a few percent when they're out. The official charging station is honestly the most ideal way, and in my opinion only worthy way of charging.

Yes because if you buy an SUV with the intention of carrying lots of passengers, your only concern and entire basis on whether or not you purchase it, is if it can beat a 911 on the track.

Right.

You are missing the point. 110-120V recharging is not for primary recharging. It is definately not "practically pointless".
It's for emergency use and also for when the vehicle is not near a fast recharge location, and also for when time is plentiful.
It only needs to recharge until there is enough energy to bring you home or to a fast recharge location. That's all.
No need to 100% recharge ever time!

I take it you didn't read earlier posts? Or even read the title of the article?

Unfortunately that's not how the article is perceived at all because half of the article is about performance.
I'll give it credit without a doubt, as I love Tesla, but the Article was poorly titled if the intentions were to be about the car carrying 7 people yet still delivering good straight away performance.

I'll give it credit that it's very impressive that this concept is able to do this, but it just has no real-world implications.
As another poster said, let's see it go up against a 911 on a real track, performing real maneuvers. To those that say take it on the dirt: I highly doubt you'll be taking a $50,000+ fully-electric SUV through a muddy back street, let alone a full-dirt track.
