What to do with $200 upgrade?

Thread Starter
Hi I currently have

i7 920
P6X58D Premium
6gb ram
corsair tx850w
gtx 570 => upgrading to 7970 or anything nvidia might release by mid march which can run 3monitors with just 1 card
haf 932 => selling to have more funds, will just mod my desk to put components inside the table
2tb hard drive
30gb ssd vertex 1 => my brother gave to me
no cooling because I gave my h50 to my brother

I have about $200 to spend. Which would be the best upgrade?
I'll be selling my HAF 932 for about $120. So I have about $320 to spend

A. Get a 60gb samsung 830 ssd, if 30gb is not enough.
B. Get a custom water cooling or any water cooling all-in-one.

I need other options. I'm really not into OC'ing too much so going with the water cooling is a bit on my least option. I'm currently just considering a hyper 212+ just for a budget cooler.

What is this rig used for, mainly?

Also, what is your current monitor? And your sound setup?

one word: ssd, crucial M4s get good reviews.

for cooling, consider the Rasa kit, fits in 5 1/4 bay.

You could also consider a Mechanical keyboard and laser mouse?? http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide/0_20 and http://www.overclock.net/t/786643/overall-mouse-user-comparison-rating-finding-the-best-mouse-on-ocn/0_20

to expand on what AP mentioned, http://www.overclock.net/t/1014902/ocns-most-recommended-audio-products/0_20 a dedicated sound card can be nice... specially with better speakers.

I agree get a sound card people spend tons o money of video cards but wont buy a 50 dollar sound card and a 5.1 surround sound system or a good pair of headphones. You will be amazed at what you have been missing in games. You like to look at all the eye candy a game has to offer. You should hear all the ear candy in a game.

with that set-up? I would say definitely an SSD, although you can get a decent WC kit for 320 bucks, which will help your system run quieter and much cooler. But based on what you said, I guess I would say SSD...don't need a new GPU, will be hard to find an upgrade to a 570 for 300 bucks (unless you plan to SLI)...

Get a 128GB SSD and a Hyper 212+/Evo (since you're considering getting one), should reach the $200 mark. Money nicely spent.

I currently have a ASUS Xonar Essence ST and 5.1 speakers from logitech. I'm looking at studio monitors and I don't know if it's good for just listening music everyday. I will be selling my gtx 570 and will a couple of bucks to get 7970. I have the money set aside for that. I have 3 25" led monitors from HP.
