The Alienware OptX probably won't win in terms of quality because it sacrifices some of it to provide the user with a matte screen instead of a mirror like glossy one; It will perform better though.

Samsung 750D (displayport) or 700D (dual-dvi) is better overall than 950D which has some issues with screen distortion due to awkward stand design/pressure. Besides those 2 monitors..BenQ XL2420 if you like matted screens....top 3 120hz monitors...skip everything else imho.

The 950D, 750D, and 700D all share the same panel, same IQ, but differ in stand and connections.

The 750D is cheaper than 950D but has only DP connection. The 700D is cheaper than both but only has a DVI connection.

Unless you need both connections, or DVI and and an intergrated 3D emitter in the display for some reason, you shouldn't go 950D. (at least in the 23" range. In the 27" range there is no 700D model and thus 950D is the only one with DVI)

How would it perform better? That's too vague for me to comment on, but it's also too vague to be of any use to the OP. wink.gif

it's decent but not as good as the other 3 monitors...im not sure how much better..never seen them side by side. so i can't really answer your question. FYI - you can get a Samsung 750D 23" version for $299 from tigerdirect when it's back in stock....a GREAT price imo.

Depends on traits...

-The Asus is superior in terms of input lag when compared side by side by the same tool. (Samsung and Asus) BenQ seems to be superior to both otherwise.
-The benQ has some minor ghosting like the Asus VG23HE. Samsung retraces perfectly @ 120hz via faster setting.
-Image quality likely goes like this: Samsung > Asus > BenQ.

That's just what I've speculated over the past few months. I could be wrong.

^ i would have patience and get a 27" Samsung 750D for $399 at tigerdirect when it's back in stock 1-2 weeks from now...I would call and check with them about availability and price. Best bang for buck imo.
