Thread Starter
I'm going EVGA.

I called them to ask them what the status was on my card. Told me they didn't receive. I had to call Fedex to track it, and it was at their freakin' facility. They lost it in their own repair center.

I hope you get something out of this for them (Asus) damaging your card and poor service. I would switch to a different brand company, sapphire and Evga are both nice..or like others said offer some money to upgrade to next level card above it.

And for those people who are telling the OP "Get over it and suck it up" you are wrong, the op should not have to be stuck with damaged goods, especially after it arrived in a undamaged box, meaning damage was caused to the card at the repair facility by a technician and not during shipping/transit...

In the current status of the economy these days you should not settle for less than what you started with, companies and independent sellers are always trying to pull a "fast one" on their customers these days and then turn their back on them, and not deal with a loss of company money due to their own negligence and instead blame the customer or ignore them.

This was an interesting thread i actually read through the 12 pages of it.

Hope to hear how this resolves. Please let us know. Good luck buddy thumb.gif

Anyway, please let us know the final outcome of this saga when you receive a replacement. If I had to guess how your card sustained that kind of damage, it looks like the computer used to test your card may have fallen off the workbench with the DVI cable firmly attached. If the DVI cable tightened while falling; i.e. not enough slack for the computer to hit the ground, or if the computer was "reeled-in" like a fish from the shop floor, the top of the PCI bracket would bend that way if fastened by screws to the computer case. This might also be why you have loose screws on the PCI bracket, and one completely missing near a DVI port. And if a fall like this took place while the computer was running, it would be the equivalent of removing your video card while the system is powered on - that would surely cause damage.

Good Luck!

Don't worry. The OP's situation isn't common AFAIK, and I've personally RMA'd multiple Asus cards without any issues whatsoever. They always packed it extremely well and got it back to me within a week each time.

You did the right thing by not trying to bend it yourself, as they could have easily tried to blame you for any future problems or if it didn't work after you did fix that particular problem. It is totally unacceptable that it took that many calls and this long for a turnaround. After this much runaround, I would demand something for my troubles. Even if it is only an hand written apology, it would at least be something. Never let a company trample on your customer rights. As someone else mentioned earlier in the thread, threaten to call the better business bureau at a minimum. You don't have to be a prick about it, be polite but firm. Just let them know you won't be stepped on when they are the one that has failed to meet their obligations to you. Hope it works out for you man.

id start calling them every day, or even twice a day to get it taken care of then, or attempt to fix it yourself, up to you. They don't seem to care too much.

Wow those people have some of the worst CS I've ever seen.

I saw someone with a similar problem, but the person who he called for RMA was extremely unhelpful and when he got his card back he complained 'cos it was all messed up and the person went something like "When the owner is stupid we fix the cards by bending it back ourselves". Oops.
so, after 2 months of bs, still not fixed, asus misplaced your card and your shelling out cash and getting evga...
afterall, if the card was in working condition might have been better off bending it back your self and actually use the card. redface.gif

this is the kind of crap i dont want to go through and i feel sorry for you. i have to rma gigabyte motherboard and seagate hard drive and hopefully it doenst turn into a nightmare case

good luck and hope everything plays out for you!
