Memory Timings

Thread Starter
the memory i have is 7-7-7-21 but is reading 9-9-9-24 in the bios .... before i change it i was wondering do i need to change any of the other timings in the bios

i understand this is a common issue? but i cant find much on the other timings in the bios( maybe not important? )
under the main 9-9-9-24 i have timings like

twtr cmd delauy
write recovery time
precharge time
Row cycle time
ras to ras

for example "row cycle time" = 33T currently.... would i need to change it to 28T ?

Hey mate - in the bios there is a menu option 'DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD). Change it to expert (should be on auto) and then you'll be able to go into the Channel A and Channel B Timing settings. Hope this helps ya out.

You may need to adjust the RAM voltage if it is not already set properly on "auto". The voltage should be listed on the DIMMs or package or RAM maker's website. DDR3 by default is 1.5v. For higher frequency many DIMMs require 1.6v-1.65v.

not sure where this is, my mobo is a gigabyte and has M.I.T ... i can change it to manual to change the timings..... just wanna know if i need to change more than just the 4 main timings......in addition to "9-9-9-24"
there are also timings for

twtr cmd delay
write recovery time 10T
precharge time 5T
Row cycle time 33T
ras to ras 4T
