[battlefieldo] Blackout Battlefield - Page 17

I have only logged 20 hours in BF3, most of that was in the first week. Even with these new patch lists I don't want to play it. They keep taking it farther and farther from what it should be, to keep the CoD guys happy. This shouldn't be CoD with larger maps and vehicles, but it's getting closer and closer to that. They have lost me until they fix this stuff. I mean really, a shotgun with a tighter coe if you look down the barrel? Nerfing a gun that was DESIGNED to take down aircraft? Its just stupid anymore. If I want to play CoD, I get on my xBox and play it.

DICE have NEVER been up to scratch with patching Battlefield games....all the way back to Battlefield 2....what YEAR did we get the 1.5 patch again???
The last two Battlefield games have been THE most patched Battlefields ever and most of it has come from community feedback. The reason you can use a scope on the M14 rifle in BC2 is because the community begged for it.
I wouldn't have expected this from Battlefieldo tbh. It seems really childish and I HATE when people talk the way the author talked. "We" this and "we" that....."so, this is what we're going to do".........I hate that stuff. When people talk to me in a suggestive manner in real life I ignore them. I make my own decisions, thanks, and I'd prefer to not be part of this crybaby boycott. I facepalmed when I read that it was only going to last 24 hours.....really???
I really don't get it though......DICE HAVE been patching and updating various areas of the game on quite a regular basis compared to 99% of other games on the market and we DO know about what they are planning and what they are planning IS based on general concensus from Battlefield communities, we just don't know when it's going to be done.
Is that really something to cry like this about?

I took part in the boycott. I have the game and for those 24 hours I didn't play it. But I didn't play it the 24 hours before that.... or the 24 hours after, lol. So, technically I took part in the "boycott". Though I did read the post, I think you missed the point with the 24 hours thing. I got more of an air of respect for the developers than I did with the Modern Warfare stuff "boicott this gaym forevah! Def 2 all iw devz!". I totally agree with you, though. The last two games have been majorly patched compared to, say BF2. And to say DICE doesn't listen at all is not true, they overhauled the final game based on alpha and beta user feedback and then there's the stuff in BC2 you mentioned.

EDIT:

and it also looks like DICE, or someone at EA, took the bait and posted a huge bugfix list for the next update and mentioned how they're rebuilding it (iirc?) so I guess this worked out ok?

I think the funny thing about that huge list that they released is that DICE had already released a massive list of fixes and tweaks that were going to be in the next patch prior to this blackout and had been releasing information for the past month on what would be in this upcoming patch. It's not like they just pulled this list out of their bums, they've been working on this stuff since the last patch. This is why I don't understand what this protest was all about (I really tried to, but nothing about this made sense to me).. DICE has been regularly releasing information since the launch of this game.

I think that mechanic requires re-evaluation tongue.gif

I haven't really experienced any hit-registration issues, to be honest. I can imagine there may be issues if you don't have an extremely low-latency connection and you're in servers with a ping over 100ms, but I wouldn't exactly say that's the developer's fault (not your fault either). I kind of like the way it is now. It has reduced serious spamming of rocket launchers. I don't mind getting killed by one every now and then, but when someone is using it primarily over their other weapons, it bugs me a little bit.

Wow?

24 hours of silence.

Because EA will really care about that.

If anything they'd be more than happy since you know 98% of those people participating will go and play Mass Effect 3 or some other EA game anyways.

I don't think a 24 hour "blackout" would phase them. If anything they'd view it as a blessing as a day off from having to sift through as many emails. This wont work, EA doesn't care, you already bought the game...they already have their money. They've got to kill this game before they make the next when, then they'll promise that one will be upkept. Same story different game.

Thank goodness someone sees this for what it is man +1000. Not playing the game for 24 hours will not do anything at all. The game is already paid for. The damage is already done. Dice and EA are just taking you guys for a ride with what comes out of their mouth. At least Activision admits that they are bending you over. It does not take a masters degree in economics to figure out that more money will be made by playcating to a few whiners by promising a few BS patches and releasing another game down the road than to actually keep one game alive.

Unless it was subscription based...

You want EA to change? Simple, don't buy the next game.

That won't happen though because you already know Dice will say "Hey guys we will listen now. We promise" wink.gif
