and also it is possible that the fans werent meant to be run at 100% all the time... ya think of that one? its kind of like OCing... they set it at safe settings from the factory for a reason and dont warranty it when you burn it up(although thats changing now...) fans are the same way... why would they set the fan at a speed that would lead to early failure? they set them to safe speeds and then the user uses afterburner or some other software to push the fan to 100%.
so i guess your right software did cause them to brake but it was the user who programmed it to 100% that caused it.
sorry for being trite, just found out the new motor i paid $4500 to have installed is leaking oil and the cmpany that sold it to me will only pay for half the labor to fix the new motor. so i payed for a new motor leaking oil....

No I fully understand and respect a different point of view- but like you said- it was the same as mine... which means boring old repetition smile.gif

As for the 100% - i have only been running it at 100% for a short while... maybe two weeks? I understand that may be the reason it died but it just seems like poor function for a fan to die that soon... even at 100%.

Ive got two Scythe ultra KAZE fan's running at 100% for two years... 3000rpm nearly 24/7 and they are fine...

But never the less its all good... its just obvious that Nvidias reference cooler design wasn't so great... the sink, the fan, none of it ... it was "just enough" to keep the card below the heat limit of 102C - (so like 85-95C) -- its ridiculous that a new cooler dropped me to 35C Idle 55C load... my idle was over 60 with the stock cooler...

Anyway- ill stop ranting.

Engine leaks oil? What engine? And holy god $4500 for an new one?
