Unfortunately, even the adapter won't fit on the back, it's too wide ! There is only 13mm or clearance from the fan to the side panel. it require at least 2 cm. And if the tubing would be long enough to go to the front, even then it doesn't fit. If I buy, for example, the Corsair H40 cooler (even though it's 60$ at newegg or Canadacomputers!), it require at least 5cm of depth clearance to fit the fan and the radiator. I there is only 3 cm between the grill where you put the fan and the 3.5in drive bays. So, either I find an efficient low-profile cooler, either I change my case. I might opt for the second option this summer, when I'll have enough money to get a case and a cooler !

how did you tag that 120MM fan on your rear ??? you try tagging the H60 the same way thumb.gif
post #57 of 65
That 120mm downwards cooler with the 80mm adapter is pretty tight.
But moving back to the original topic of better cooling solutions and the real reason I visited this thread...The Zalman orb style coolers are incredible. Even with the fan COMPLETELY off, it still cools better than my Phenom II cooler (the one with copper heatpipes) when it's running at full tilt.
My 965 BE processor at 3.91 GHZ hasn't seen a temp above 58 running Prime 95 for hours upon hours

Don't bother getting a new CPU cooler right now.

What you really need is new case with half-descent air flow and cable management, 120mm fans and a bottom mounted PSU.

Check out some of the stuff from NZXT, Cooler Master, Thermaltake, and Rosewill.

Once you get a good case, then get a tower cooler.

that's what I thought, considering my case is not only too small for a bunch of good coolers (like CM 212+ of Corsair A70) but it's also quite scratched. And, it's 8 years old (it's was bought in 2004) so an update wouldn't be a bad thing, the fans on it are getting loud ! So, I thought about the Cooler Master HAF 912. It's a mid-tower, but it's big enough for most good coolers. It also has 2 120mm fan, with a possibility of 4. And, at 60$, I think it's not too expensive for a cool looking case.
