Graphic Card to TV Connection

Got new GFX gts450 and tried to connect my LG LV3730 32inch with the HDMI cable but it shows no signal and the graphic card also isnt detecting the TV . can some1 help me am i doing anything wrong. i reinstalled the nvidia drivers(295.73) and did rigorous detection but no luck. help plz.

May sound obvious, but are you using the right input on the TV?

Should see the TV as any other monitor. Do you have an HDMI monitor to check to see if it works?

yes im connecting to the backpanel where its shown to put HDMI connection. unfortunately i dont have any other hdmi monitor to check. btw shud it work directly i mean is it just plug and play
