First Time With Watercooling, need help choosing parts

Thread Starter
So this is my first time working with watercooling. I am a bit confused on what parts will work and what are good and parts. My system is a AMD Phenom II 1090T AM3 with the Coolermaster HAF 932. I am buying everything from PC Case Gear.

Waterblock: EK-Supreme HF Full EN Nickel

Radiator: XSPC RX360

Pump: EK Laing DDC-Pump 12V DDC-1Plus

Reservoir: XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25”

Fans: CoolerMaster 120mm 2-Pack Silent LED

Tubing: 4x PrimoChill PrimoFlex Pro LRT Tubing UV Red 7/16ID 5/8OD

Kill Coil: PrimoChill Antimicrobial Tube Coil Silver

Compression Fittings: 6x Bitspower G1/4 Matte Black 7/16 Compression Fitting CC6

Compression 45s Fittings:
2x Bitspower G1/4 Matte Black Dual Rotary 45 Degree 7/16 Fitting

So basically if there is something that needs to be added or changed, you can browse through the watercooling section and look for the right component as PC Case Gear is where i buy my stuff from.

Oh, then which coolant then? Are all of the components compatible and the right quantity?

never owned a koolance rad so I can't comment on that but id suggest a rx 240 or the rs, as for coolant id go distilled water with pt nuke and a kill coil... By the way what fans are you using for the rad?

I have added the fans to the list, it is a Coolermaster. Also i have changed the radiator to the one you recommended. Where do i get distilled water from and what is pt nuke and a kill coil? Also i was thinking of watercooling both of my Asus 6950s but it uses a non-reference pcb, so i had a look around found this. I just need to buy some heatsinks for the ram.

Distilled you can get from just about any grocery store in the gallon water section.pt nuke helps stop algea and other nasties Lol, and a kill coil is coil of silver that kills algea. If your planning on cooling your gpus also id add a 360 rad along with the 240. By the way what's your budget?

Can i just use normal tap water? I know tap water may contain traces of metal in it or some other crap but i can boil the water to kill all those crap. PT Nuke are not sold in Australia. The coolant i chose says it stops algae and other stuff. But i did find the kill coil and it has been added to the list, please check if it is the right one. Where am i meant to put the 2nd radiator in my case? It can only support up to one and the 360 is a triple 120mm rad. I don't really have a budget. Also, is the tube i chose will work with the other components and how many do i need? Also for the compression fittings, will that be compatible with the other components and how many do i need?

not sure about boiling it, I stray away from coolants since they tend to gunk up the loop faster. Ill factor in all the fittings when I get home currently at work Lol. And ill search the site your using for the other stuff in a bit.

Please dont use tap water, or dyes or coolant-in-a-bottle. The dye will come out of solution and deposit in your loop.

There is a big difference between boiling (which doesn't actually kill minerals) and evaporating and recondensing (distilling) to completely remove all impurities.
As Xaphen187 says, distilled water is readilly available, try your nearest petrol station they often have it.
Distilled water, a silver kill coil to prevent algae growing, and you'll be fine.
PT nuke is a biocide, a copper sulphate solution. If you can find some add a drop or 2.

Your parts list has no aluminium in contact with the water so galvanic corrosion shouldn't be a problem, negating the need for a corrosion inhibitor.
