I see some really bad pattern noise. Looks wavy to me too.

Its not the image compression you're using, right? Looks the same straight out of the camera before you upload it?

I think it may have been vibrations while the shutter was open. It was a 1 second exposure so its entirely possible....

That could cause some blur from camera shake if you weren't using a tripod or something else to support the camera, but this looks like something else. Maybe that camera just isn't very good at long exposure. That does heat up the sensor, which can cause noise, but then again 1 second isn't THAT long of an exposure.

looks like thats the only picture with that in it. I guess its a fluke.

What camera are you using? Most manufacturers have an off-camera remote available, either wired or wireless. That way there's no chance of vibration from hitting the shutter release.
