I gave you ball park figure (+.03) -you can adjust it (example +.02~.025) to match your fixed stable ,higher LLC will combat Vdroop but will give you lower idle Vcore .I like to keep my margin between idle/load closer especially when i use positive offset to avoid freezing under light load/idle @ lower clocks. I also mention "higher LLC will increase you temps" ..my bad... i meant PWM Phase Control (Extreme will increase VRM temp)
Bottom line is for such a small multi (x45) you can use negative or positive whichever works best for you and yes decreasing PLL voltage will help your temps ,make sure you are stable
Good luck

Tried this on my Z68 V-LX, it didn't work out so well

haha 98C on prime.

it kept auto raising my Vcore to 1.41

even though i set it manually

EDIT:

OK well then, Some how it doesn't let me do 4.5ghz easily

but look what i managed to pull stable:

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2296388 thumb.gif

temps are 30 -67c

+ rep for all your help !

You have a feeling that after seeing my sensor readings with HWiNFO I could get easily to x46 multiplier with the same settings ? (maybe only increasing the voltage a little)

I changed 2 things since last time : offset to +.02 instead of +.03 and pll voltage decreased to 1.712

Sensor readings after 19min prime blend test :

- clocks between 4.499,1 - 4.501,0 mhz
- temp gets to 63 degrees max
- vcore fluctuates between 1,312v - 1,336v
- cpu pll is constant @ 1,712 V
- DDR constant @ 1,500 V
- CPU Package power fluctuates between 86,707W - 90,996W
- When idling speed drops to 1600mhz and core voltage fluctuates between 0,992V - 1,008V

Changes from last positive offset (.03) are marked in bold
Conclusion : 1 degree lower, vcore minimum under load dropped from 1,320v to 1,312v. Shouldn't the max vcore drop also though ? Same with idle vcore : max idle dropped, minimum idle vcore stayed the same...
Minimum "CPU Package power" is almost 1W higher and the maximum almost 0,5W higher... This is normal by just doing these 2 changes compared to last time ? Bit worried about that...

your temps are highly dependent on your ambient temps ,so if you comparing your temps make sure your ambient is the same ,if you change offset value your load/idle Vcore should change
1 test was 12 min (load 1.320~1.336v) (idle .992~1.016v)
2 test is 19 min (load 1.312 ~ 1.336v) (idle.992 ~ 1.008)V
and this are based on your report, don't know how accurate they are but you can see some minor differences ,it takes time to get it just right and find what works best for you .."0,5W higher" come on now biggrin.gif

0,5W higher, the minimum value was even 1W higher biggrin.gif

Seeing my new vcore values, you think I can go even lower, to lets say +.01 ?
Ambient temps are always about the same by the way, so the readings should be quite accurate (readings are done in program ''HWiNFO'' - latest beta)

Something totally different :

since I am changing my BIOS settings for my overclock I noticed something odd in the event viewer :
The embedded controller (EC) returned data when none was requested. The BIOS might be trying to access the EC without synchronizing with the operating system. This data will be ignored. No further action is necessary; however, you should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS

I have a feeling these messages come up when doing prime testing.
Is this normal?
Anybody else has this?
Thx !

EDIT :

Seems your custom prime test is testing the CPU abit more biggrin.gif

- clocks between 4.499,3 - 4.501,3 mhz
- temp gets to 65 degrees max
- vcore fluctuates between 1,312v - 1,328v
- cpu pll is constant @ 1,712 V
- DDR constant @ 1,500 V
- CPU Package power fluctuates between 87,449W - 93,569W
- When idling speed drops to 1600mhz and core voltage fluctuates between 0,992V - 1,008V

Changes in Bold !
2 degrees higher, alot more CPU package power and DECREASE of the max voltage. How about that rolleyes.gif

But the good news is that I passed on both 25min+ tests so I will leave it as it is now, I think thumb.gif

No double post, just wanne put emphasis on this post.

Guys, be sure to run these torture tests @ 1344 and 1792 (both as min and max) for about 60 min on each setting.
I was stable at positive offset +0.030 and I THOUGHT I was stable at +0.020 also... Seems I was not !
When benching with latest prime95 and with above settings (1 hour per test at least) I got BSOD @ 0.020 with 1792 as min and as max.
I am stable at +0.025 though.

Strange thing is, when gaming with +0.020 I got no BSOD !

that's why 20~25 min should be sufficient ....custom P95 is pretty much “broad daylight rape” for this processors ,but it's quick and very demanding stress test wink.gif ,if you want the "real life" stress test just run FAH (fold) for 10+hours straight
