You mean returning mine (100º stock) or the one with 1.3 VID? smile.gif

The temp of my cpu is probably explained by a bad TIM application in bad state (old AS5, didn't want to waste my good time) and the fact that I did not know how push pins worked. Let's see how if works with the apogee.

If 1.2v is your VID, what's your real load voltage?

AsRock Z77 Extreme 4
Core i5 2500k 4.7Ghz
Offset: -.030.
LLC: Level 2.
C1E: Enabled.
C3, C6 e Package C: Disabled.

I can run Prime95 12h.

Is it normal?
After I started using offset, my temperatures fell between 6 ~ 3C.

With fixed VCore I could only stabilize with 1.350V, now he was stable with less. I do not understand.

Wow, that's nice. What's your idle vcore? I've had trouble using negative volts, the rig was unstable @ idle speed.

Hello thanks for the guide ive got a new i7 3770k and iam trying to folow your guide but iam having a hard time or maybe is just something else.

My Mb is a Maximus 5 gene and ive been having data corruption on my OS no blue screens but some hard crashes happend,.

I think my problem may be that my idle vid is too low 0.820v along with 1.75v pll, do you think that having this so low could lead to this data corruption?

Also my traget atm is 4.2, (using Stock cooler never gets over 85c, waterblock is still on route) its perfectly stable if i use a fixed vid of 1.150v. Iam also using a PLL of 1.8 now .

This data corruption happend 2x now luckly i have OS image to recover but its very anoying not to know what is causing it.

did you look in eventviewer for whea errors, they can lead to data corruption too, as far as i know..

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools , eventviewer, custom views, Adminstrative events

yes, your 0.820v seems a bit low, but is that vcore or vid? just making sure smile.gif ( you cant change vid, its "hardcoded" from factory)
never heard before that lowering pll can cause data corruption tho,
could it be its just time to do a fresh reinstall for your windows?
maybe the backup you use already has some problems in it...

So you think its safe lowering cpu ppl voltage to 1.7v?

should be no problem, could help get your temps down a bit, and make a oc stable at lower oc's,
like i said, i never heard that lowering pll caused data corruption,
with my oc's i used between 1.65 and 1.75V most of the time,
some go as low as 1.5V, i think thats about the lowest, but some go lower then that even..

still wonder about the idle 0.820v you have, normally its more in the 0.950 range, bit higher, or lower maybe,
you can run into problems when your idle vcore is very/to low, crashes/bsod etc , that i know..
mine idles above/around 1V, but im running a very high +offset, 0.160V,
if you run a - or negative offset, your idle vcore will lower also see..
