SETI lost all funding about a year ago and just went offline in total, so they can't really afford the servers to handle the management of the thousands of slave machines. SETI as an institute has been receiving spotty grants that allow them to run a few weeks out of every month, but SETI@home will not be online for the foreseeable future unless a large-scale, long-term donor steps in.
Sad to see it go.

I didn't dl from the link instead I dl'd from the site directly and it has everything in one dl that you would need and gives you choices on how you want to set it up when installing, but now I want to go back and change my workload to the bigger WU. how do I do that? is the client I have now an updated one that is different cause I tried following a couple guides and they aren't working. you can see the version in the screenshot.

Hello again! Lucky you I know folding as well as what temperature is okay to run your 560ti at. biggrin.gif

You're using the client v7, you can find a guide for that linked in my sig under FOLDING if need be. As far as your set up goes though everything looks good to me, the bigger WUs you mentioned are called bigadv and they are not something that can currently be done on your CPU. The only possible way to tweak your folding set up for an improvement would be to set up a virtual machine of linux to run your CPU folding in, if you did that you could expect about a 10% improvement in CPU PPD to around 15-16K PPD.

If you want to look into a VM then this post is what I would recommend for you as far as set up with the only difference being I no longer recommend adding the -advmethods tag to the GPU client.

yup that guide was pretty much everything I wanted to know. thanks. now what makes you say that I shouldn't run the bigger WU's? the speed or just the processor itself?

while this is funny, what makes you say I can't complete them? is it the processor or is there something I'm lacking? what are the deadlines like with the bigger ones?
