phenom II x4 @ 3.4ghz and gtx 560 non-ti

I'm not positive if this question has me resolved by someone else, but here goes!

I have a phenom 925 @ 3.4. I have had a noticable difference with BF3 running at higher frames this way.

But my question is, i want to buy another 560 to sli ( im aware of vram issues with bf3, i plan on to keep playing on high) and i'm sure it'll boost my performance. Is my processor good enough? Am I going to have to work on 3.5+ ghz to sli and not bottleneck??

Yeah that would run a non ti card, but any more than two and you would need to upgrade.

I get about 40-60 in everymap with my current settings, what FPS do you think i'll reach with sli?

I dont have BF3 yet,i play BFBC2 few times a week.
I have reccently tried to play with my CPU at a lower overclock than normal,i used 4 Ghz one night a few weeks ago.

What happened was that every few seconds my FPS would drop to 30-40,constant droops in FPS.
I upped my CPU speed to 4.2Ghz and these drops in FPS are pretty much gon altogether.

Looking at what i found i declared to myslef that my CPU at 4Ghz was bottlnecking my single GTX480.
Dont know if that helps at all but i just thought i throw that in there for you to think over.

Saying that,i did once read on here that as you go higher res and turn on the eye candy most of the stress is on the GPU' and not the CPU tongue.gif

from what i've read, your vcard is more powerful than mine tongue.gif are you using a core2duo? and also a good psu?

You'll have a bottleneck for sure. It'll be playable for sure, specifically BF3, will have significant dips in frames. You'll want at least 4ghz to try to get as much as you can out of it. My 1090T bottlenecked my SLI 460's on bigger maps with noticeable micro stutter. 50 fps felt like under 30 frames. The game played great and I had about 75% usage on both cards, but it still bothered me.
