Need help building first water cooled computer [using freitz template] - Page 3

I spray painted mine. Cost me about $1.

The problem with spray paint (which I did with one of my earlier builds), is that the paint doesn't like to stay on inside the socket. With cross-head screws it's not as bad, but with hex screws, the driver fits fairly precisely within the screw, which scratches the paint, and leaves annoying shiny bits.

In order to match the standard MM black oxide coated pan-head hex driven screws, I had to look all over the internet. I finally found them on McMaster-Carr (great website, btw), but they were very expensive. If you don't care that much about everything matching that specifically, then you could probably spend a lot less, but you're still looking at added cost.

wth.gif screws are screws go to local hardware store take 1 said screw with you and buy more of that exact same screw there like 20-30 cents each, oh and don't forget rads come with enough screws to do push pull. Least mine did

Ok, so only if you buy fancy screws tongue.gif. But seriously, I live in the bay area, and there were no hardware stores within at least 50 miles of me that sold the kind of screws I wanted. So I had to buy them in packs of 100 online. Don't judge, just love blushsmiley.gif

Also, not all rads come with enough screws to do push/pull. Pretty much every radiator I've seen comes with enough for at least push or pull, but not necessarily both.

It just doesn't quite look the same.
