There are other, much cheaper options to a MBA 13 (my sig laptop is $750 new - with 4-6GB of RAM and a 640gb HDD, no SSD option, easy to upgrade though). Personally if I'm tying up money on last-gen stuff, I don't like to spend a lot outright. But anyways, buy a MBA 13 now, lose $200-250 flipping it, and go with the IB model in a couple months if your finances allow it.

Hearing u all say wait, I guess I will. To be honest, all my system are windows, and I wanna try out a Mac, plus the Air weight is what interested me. I already thought about the toshiba, even the z835, everything is considered, but cant pull a trigger on them for some reasons.

Looks like I am bit late in this thread, but I would say wait just a little big for the new MBP 13". I have the mid 2010 MBP with a SSD and HDD (I replace my ODD bay with a HDD adapter) and I love it. As far as laptops go, the are crafted wonderfully. The trackpads are unbeatable, and the battery life is awesome. It is hard to find people to back you up on a Mac purchase on this forum- but I love having my beast PC tower and a MacBook to compliment it on the go. Obvious hardware/$ cost isn't the best - but the design and the OS is really nice.

Speculation is speculation - but I feel there may not be a new body refresh. I hope there is, but who knows. I do think they will move in with i7 on the 13" though. Good luck!!

I would say wait, nothing worse than the feeling of buying something and then a couple months later something better came out THAT YOU KNEW OF.

I would wait. I still love my pro, even after almost an entire year of using it, it is still a top performance machine.

Mine does get warm under full load, but it hasn't overheated yet.

I wasn't implying that. That sucks that your HP died, I guess now your hand is forced. Personally if I went with a Macbook, I'd sell right before the new models come out every year. Lots of people brag about the ~$150 a year cost for having the newest model. Personally I upgrade laptops pretty often; seeing how the performance, weight, battery life, etc. increase at such a fast pace. The jump from SB to IB (~20-30% CPU, ~50% graphics, plus battery life gains) for MBA should be as big, if not bigger than the jump from the 1st-gen MBA, and people were practically giving those away after the SB models came out.

Suck it up and wait. They new 13 mpb will come with ivy bridge. With its lower tdp, it will most likely come with a quad core which is worth the wait imo.
