Need help with an OCZ Vertex 60GB Indilinx Barefoot Controller hanging for 10+ minutes after...

Subject kinda says it all. I have the aforementioned OCZSSD2-1VTXPL6 and, after hibernation, the system hangs for 10+ minutes. By hangs I mean I can move my cursor but can't do anything (e.g. open programs, etc.). After the initial 10-15 minutes it runs like a champ.

I have 4 days to return it so this is a time-sensitive issue. The person I built the computer for is opposed to disabling hibernation so that is not an option. I disabled indexing, prefetch, and page file. I assume the problem is with hiberfil.sys, but I don't know what to do about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

Maybe disable hibernation restart then re-enable it?

Ah, I found this link -

http://geekmontage.com/texts/ocz-vertex-3-freezes-locks-up-stutters-and-crashes/

I'm going to specifically try preventing it from turning the HDD off to see if that helps. If not then I'll use the registry fix it suggests. I'd edit the OP as solved but I'm going to leave this here in case anyone else has this problem.

I'll also report back in a few days to say whether or not these tips helped.

Thanks biggrin.gif
