I'm looking to get a mATX build so I can easily bring the computer over to a friends house for gaming. Believe it or not an 800D is a pain to haul over. So I'm kind of new to this scene and I'd like to keep it pretty cheap. No budget in mind but I was thinking around $500. I have a GTS 450 just laying around and I'm hoping that would be able to work with mATX. I also have a spare HD that I'm not using that could cut on the cost. I would be playing most likely 1680x1050 resolution and I was thinking a i3 would work best for me.

So that is what I have got and that I can work with. So what would you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

^-I was able to get that motherboard and an i5-2500K (in sig rig) for $230 before taxes, and after rebates/instant discounts. Seeing as how you have a spare graphics card and HDD, you could definitely get an i5 in your price range.

The motherboard has 4 USB 2 ports, 2 USB 3 ports, 4 SATA II ports, and 2 SATA III (6 Gbps) ports. It can support up to 32 GB of memory if you really need it heh. HDMI and DVI ports are also onboard since this is a z68 motherboard. It's handy when your GPU needs to undergo and RMA or something, because you'll always have integrated graphics to rely on.

It is SLI/CF capable but note that the lanes aren't all PCI-E x16 (one PCI-E x16, x8, x4).

Determine what you need/want. Need a power house? Choose the motherboard stu chose. If you want something to run a single GPU, have a fair amount of RAM, and some of the newer technology for fairly cheap, definitely consider this motherboard

Unfortunately I don't have an Microcenter near me at all :/ I'd have to drive 4 hours to get there which I may do soon regardless...but the problem I'm having right now seems to be finding a good PSU brand. I'm just unsure of a lot of these like this Athena Power I know it's more than what I would need for the GPU. I also don't know what would be best for Air cooling, but since I don't plan on overclocking it I may stick with Intel stock cooler, but I would probably want to fold on it.

Here is what I got so far, I'm thinking I might want a little cheaper of a case and psu also. I just don't know what to go with.

i must admit, i dont know much about that PSU and did a serch for mATX PSU and didnt know any of them either.. lol
if you definatly not going to overclock, you could look at an I5 2500 or 2400 or the I3 2130 for examples.. as to cooling you could use the intel cooler, it does actually work at stock but if you want to fold 24/7 maybe get a cheap low profile air-cooler or something that will fit in your case you choose..
