Depends on what you want to do. You wont be doing Incursions soon after you start but there are lots of things to do and in cheap ships.

It's really not that boring unless you don't know what you are doing. There is alot of things to do while skilling up, pirating, missions for isk for buying ships and gear, exploring Wormholes, going to 0.0 which there you will be either destroyed by other pirates or Corps that own that part of space its basically endless possiblities. Here is 2 videos that makes good examples of this game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq2oxt7Nrxo&feature=fvst http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSxSyv4LC1c

Eve used to be hard to start out in. Back in 2003 there was no tutorial or really much of an explanation at all. Heck, I tried to slow-boat to a station from where the game dropped me because it never told you how to warp. Now it is pretty friendly, a good tutorial that sets you up with both money and the knowledge to do basic tasks.

I found it rather easy to start as well. They give you everything you need to start out. It takes a bit of getting used to the way the game works, but if you read (big if for some people) everything is explained... except scanning biggrin.gif It takes time, but is not "hard." And Google is your bff with this game.

Definitely try to get into a friendly player corp though. Tagging along in missions is more interesting and more isk than grinding lvl 1 missions, and they can also offer lower or 0 tax. Also its more interesting in general with people to talk to and do other things with.

You are thinking of a different game. Eve was created by developers in Iceland, and came out in 2003. It was never a Japanese anything.
