Got some more goodies today, getting ready to transfer the board over to a different case so I can fire it up while still working on the switch. Picked up a temp heatsink so I can make sure everything works.

Another little update. Got the board out of the switch and into the Antec P280 which I had in my closet.

Empty again!

CPU going in:

And the thin little Samsung RAM, expect to see custom heatsinks for these later..

The Silenx cooler I got at Fry's, the fan is anything but. Seems to work OK for $30 though.

Well, not really. The first UD7 died within 5 minutes of turning it on. It took two of my hard drives and a graphics card with it. Then I spent the rest of the day trying to install windows on the other UD7 I have, with little success. Apparently it is impossible to install windows to a RAID array on this board. I have not had such a hard time getting a machine running since the Pentium II days, and I would not suggest this board to anyone for any reason besides the fact that it looks cool. Thats about all its got going for it. Anyway, its working now, although I am still trying to figure out how to install windows to RAID 0 drives on it.

Haha, the one that died was the one I was planning to use. I'm going to RMA the bad one. I'm about to start seeing if I can OC this thing.... one thing I can say is good is the onboard sound. VERY good. thumb.gif Apparently my graphics card was an "attempted" delivery today, so I'll go pick it up tomorrow and I can play a few games as well.

And you have a PM biggrin.gif

Are you satisfied with the Bitfenix Spectre's ? (thinking on buying some of 'em biggrin.gif)

They are very nice fans for the price. Not the highest static pressure of CFM but I don't have any fans that will compare turned down to 1000rpm. Very effective on low fpi radiators which is what i use them for, plus a little dress up. They are also quiet, I have 7 of them about 14" from my head right now and the only thing I can hear is my graphics card fan, so they are fairly inaudible. Overall I like them enough to use in two builds now, since they come in 4 sizes. thumb.gif
