Nvidia Driver Version 8.17.12.8562 Crashing

Thread Starter
So occasionally i get this thing where my screen will go black for a couple seconds, the sound will get really choppy and it then it will say something like this Nvidia Driver has crashed the kernel has been recovered or something. I was wondering if anyone else was getting this issue and how to fix it, thanks

Google "TDR errors". It's been a problem that a lot of people have had, but the root cause has been difficult to pin down.

I had that problem with a couple drivers, but it apparently went away when I disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox. (At least, I haven't seen the problem again since making the change, knock on wood.)
