Free new feet for SteelSeries Kana

Thread Starter
Hey everyone..

So.. There is really no other way of saying this than: we screwed up on the default feet on SteelSeries Kana. The material that went on the mass-production units was not the material we had approved, and unfortunately it took us a little time to realize this. What does that mean? Well, it means that we shipped SteelSeries Kana with feet that offers a glide (and ultimately a user-experience) that is not what we wanted. This only affects the first batches of Kana we shipped, not any other mice. That's why I will tomorrow start our new Kana "Pedicure program".

You can register your mouse on SteelSeries.com/pedicure - and if your mouse passes our validation check, we will ship you new feet. At no cost to you.

I had a few community members from this forum call me a fraud, liar and douche bag on twitter over this, so I figured I would annonce this here first (and hopefully go back to just being a douche bag).

We all wish we hadn't screwed up, but we hope this helps provide the experience with Kana we designed it for - and we hope you will like your Kana even more with the new feet.

Cheers,

Kim Rom

Star for SteelSeries to actually send their customers something that was their fault, unlike other companys!
Glad I switched from Razer > Steelseries

@IJJI Forums, horrible community

To own up to your problems and actually do something about it is a plus in my book. Even though the kana isn't for me, at least steel series is keeping up and listening to a community outside of the "gaming community". Very awesome

Kudos to you guys for doing this, I just wish the Kana would have went with better switches. :|

Material: Gaming grade UPE teflon covers 16 % of mouse bottom to ensure maximum glide. We recommend changing glides regularly as they will eventually be worn down.

We recommend to change glides regularly as they eventually get worn down. See our made to fit SteelSeries Glide Kinzu

Had the "Kinzu v1" also the wrong mousefeet?

Because they are advertised the same as the ones on the "Kana". teaching.gif

The only thing that really bothers me is that they call it Teflon. If Steelseries think that feet are good or not or make some missjudgment, all up to them.
Misleading the customers is for me more serious.

I cannot judge if it is legal or illeagal to do so, nut simply everbody thinks/expects PTFE when he hears mouse feet together with Teflon in one sentence.
