Trifire -> two 7970 + FLEX6G 6GB 7970

post #1 of 12
Thread Starter
im probably going to be doing this as it makes it much simpler to pull off eyefinity with no tearing,

any opinions? will running a 6gb 7970 with two 3 gb 7970s work normally like three 7970s? is there a way to increase loading on the 6gb proportionatly or will it do this automatically?

Thanks all

There isn't a 7970 w/ 6GB of VRAM....
post #3 of 12
When running in Xfire/SLI the Highest card defaults to the lowest card. So in this case the 6gb will run as a 3gb.

three for the moment, but i want to use the eyefinity setup, with my current two 7970s i cannot do eyefinity unless i use an active adapter for the dual link dvi on my 7970 (third port for the third monitor) and screen tearing is a common problem realised by using eyefinity setups with different connections :/ soo hence the flex6g which will have 6 display ports

You havent had any problems with screen tearing? at all?
what are your connections to your monitors? and are they running at 120 hz? because that could have something to do with it

3 24" ASUS 60hz 1080p. Only see screen tearing in Skyrim, but not in anything else yet.
