6850 HIS IceQ Turbo and 6850 ASUS overclocking.. Need advice.

Thread Starter
I ended up with two different brand 6850 1gb cards, its a long story, but I had one, didnt pay a dime for the other, so here we are aha. Ive trying to OC these two in sync, and cant seem to hold them in middle ground evenly. The ASUS alone, as a single card set up, runs great. I can get a stable 950 core OC from 790 with 1.2v. Then theres the HIS Iceq.. Which I cant get to hit 900c from 820 without artifacting, and to get it to run smoothly at a higher clock, I have to pump so many volts into it the temps make it not worth it..

My questions are

1. Should I run them in sync if Im going to be crossfiring them? (same clock/voltage/mem)

2. Should I flash bios them so they both share the same bios?

3. Anyone heard of my issue with the HIS 6850 Ice and its terrible OC?

I appreciate the help.

1. Not needed, just the faster once won't be maxed, will stay on 90-95% usage or so.
2. No, definitely not.
3. No

1. not needed but might as well
2. definitely not needed. your prolly going to get a better clock out of one but this won't help the clock on the other much if at all
3. i've heard it isn't the best for OCing but thats more of a card to card thing anyways.
