Oh, give me a break.
We all know that publishers are being swayed by the thought of having an explosive triple A title, nevermind the money that could be raked in now at days for having one.
Games today are trending to the thoughtless and un-original. Developers are pushed by the publishers to rush games through the door and development costs are that of Hollywood.

Atari flooded the market with 2600 games back in the day and crashed it. Out of fire arose innovation because improvement was necessary to get peoples attention - this is exactly what needs to happen today.

[offtopic] StarCraft II was hyped, and for good reason. I LOVE IT! biggrin.gif [/offtopic]

I played and like Diablo II. Really looking forward to Diablo III. That's all there is to it. I like the hype, but I'm not going to be angry if it doesn't live up to it. The anticipation is half the fun of getting the game! tongue.gif

How is this going to meet anyones expectations when it was supposed to come out back in 08'? Someone needs to be FIRED!!!

I just love that word.. FIRED!!!!!! YOUR FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!mad.gif

I expect them to at least deliver something as good as Diablo II. I don't even care if they copy a ton of things from Diablo II. I'd rather see things repeated that are really good, than them taking a step in the dark with something less innovative than they did before.

After hearing the comments from Blizzard, I'm definitely not optimistic about the game if they aren't either. Basically what I'm getting is "we're on a tight schedule, and need to wrap this up, and the game won't be as good as Diablo II so don't expect it to be, but buy it anyway". Um....no?

I have been playing Blizzard games since the very first one was released and not once has ANY of their games come out even remotely close to the projected release date. Normally their releases are around a year or so later at best. Complain all you want but it will never change their process.

Not surprising. From what Beta feedback I have heard.. the game is pretty boring.

Maybe most people have lost interest in hack/slash RPGs? I will buy the game at launch either way.

I have zero expectations for this game (other then for it to be released this year). I never played diablo or diablo 2 so I will be playing this game with an open mind.

Diablo 3 in its current beta is an amazing game. Anyone who thinks it wont make blizzard HUNDREDS of millions of dollars either has not played the beta and/or never played the Diablo series. It is a polished version of D2 with a decade of upgradability just like D2. Blizzard has learned all of its mistakes with D2...so now we are getting a upgraded version with 12 years of what not to do.

It is really not much different than D2 as far as the gameplay goes. You run around wearing out your index finger constantly left clicking and a skill bound to the right button while your other hand hovers over a button tied to a health/mana potion. That's it, nothing different. Even Deckard Cain's voice is the same. They only really changed the layout a bit and believe it or not dumbed it down even more than D2. It does get boring rather quickly.
