Yes, that's correct. The 28nm process is also behind AMD's bloated pricing.

Let's not forget though... Nvidia's the one that took forever to finalize a part.

69xx was late because of TSMC dropping 32nm. Anyways, 68xx was out in October.

I agree. Threads locked where those excited can't even have a place to talk about Kepler with others that are genuine.

Four months is a short time for Nvidia compared to the year it took AMD to come out with a single GPU card to beat a GTX 580. tongue.gif They talk as if AMD hasn't shared their own short comings. Insider trading. New series with Immature drivers and complicated crossfire set ups. High end CPU fumbles. Competition from Nvidia, Intel and British company ARM each in thier own realm.

Anyway, good news things are rolling and yields not as low as Fermi. Starting to look good. In the meantime I've managed to set aside money since 580 released little at a time and I have $1300 ear marked for NVidias latest and greatest GPU. thumb.gif Either two out the shoot or one Dual-GPU, either way a first for me.

Do I really need to explain the Sweet Spot/Small Die strategy again? This is getting ridiculous.

It's no longer a strategy, and I'm not sure it ever was. AMD is approaching Nvidia's die sizes because it's more compute orientation.

Seems AMD took some notes from Nvidia by adding GCN Architecture = Cuda and finally came to the tessellation table rather than cry 'cheating' by Nvidia. Two smart moves that make the newer 7000 series line much more valuable for more reasons. Good card and it's wisdom that can spot intelligence and vice verse.

What?

The die size shrunk this gen, 365 vs 389.
