What is the best set up.

1. XP installed on a ide drive on its own, possibly partioned off, if so how much space does it need other than the install?
Then have the 200 sata drive with programs, games etc stored on it.

or

2. Everything installed on the sata(as boot) and another drive(ide) as back
up.

Thoughts plz ?????

2, install all your programs/games onto the SATA, and use the IDE drive as storage.

Or you could do what i've done,

Take your SATA drive and parititon it to 30GB (for windows) and the left over space on the 2nd partition for games and programs (about 160gig). Then use the IDE as storage.

That way all your programs/games are seperated from the windows partition..its alot nicer IMO and easier to find stuff that was installed by you, and not windows.

well the sata drive will be slightly faster, so partion 20 gb for windows, then partion the rest for games/programs.

The ide hard drive can be used for backup/storage.

Thats the best way to do it
